During this trip, I was almost obsessive about getting Daksh and Vedant to spend time outdoors. So during the week, we tried to go to some park every day. Ice cream at the end of a park visit was almost as big a motivator as spending time outdoors was :-). I’ve missed a few parks here, because we were too busy having fun to take pictures!
Veterans’ park
Our first park outing on this trip. What better than sunshine and greenery to help overcome jet lag! Daksh almost figured out how to throw a frisbee.
Pine Lake Park
This was my favourite. So many trees, a pretty lake, what more could you ask for! It’s right next to Karthik’s house, and we went here when we visited Karthik and Arathi.
Cal Anderson park
This was closest to home and therefore most often visited. There’s a gourmet home made ice cream shop right opposite this park, called Molly Moon. And there’s another one called Salt & Straw very close by. So the incentives to go to this park were many :-).
This is Daksh and me enjoying some ice cream at Salt & Straw.
And here is Vedant insisting on eating ice cream all by himself at Molly moon.
Madison park
We went to this park almost near the end of our stay, and saw that they had a small beach, and access to a diving platform from where you can jump into Lake Washington. Definitely a must do for our next trip.
Play area at Sammamish Farmers’ market
This was a tiny little play area but I’m adding it here because Vedant finally figured out how to hang onto something with his arms while playing here 🙂
Fremont State park
The last one on this trip. Daksh had mastered climbing onto this rope pyramid and wanted to show off.
